Redcurrant Jonkheer Van Tets
Description: Jonkheer Van Tets is an early-season, traditional variety used for dessert or cullinary use. Produces long strigs of heavy and reliable dark red currants that are sweet and juicy; delicious flavours. Delicious eaten fresh from the bush or cooked into Redcurrant jams, summer puddings and wine-making. The pale green flowers appear late Spring avoiding any frost damages. The bush itself is upright in habit and moderately vigorous.
History: Originated from Scotland.
Redcurrant Growing Tips: Plant in a sheltered site, out of strong winds and frost. They do best in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Plant in any soil type, as long as it's well-drained. If you would like to eat the berries yourself, make sure you protect the bush from birds.
