Opuntia cylindrica cristata, also known as the Crested Cylinder Cactus, is a unique cultivar of Opuntia cylindrica. Native to Mexico, this cactus is prized for its distinctive crested form, where the normal cylindrical stems are twisted and fused into unusual, brain-like shapes.
Key Characteristics:
- Growth Form: This cactus grows as a sprawling, shrubby plant with flattened, cylindrical stems that form attractive crests. The crested shape creates an interesting, sculptural look, making it a popular choice for collectors and ornamental gardens
- Flowers: The flowers are typically yellow or orange, blooming in late spring or early summer. They emerge from the pads, adding vibrant colour to the plant
