Blackberry Oregon Thornless
Description: Oregon Thornless is an early, thornless blackberry. Produces a mass of heavy crops, with fruits that are glossy in appearance and have exceptional flavour! Great for eating fresh or used in jams and pies. A compact variety, ideal for planting against a wall or a fence.
Blackberry Growing Tips: Happier planted in a sunny, sheltered site but they can tolerate light shade. Prefer moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Blackberries are vigorous and need regular pruning. Tie in the shoots of newly-planted canes. Once they reach their first winter, cut back all sideshoots on the main cains. If you would like to eat the fruits yourself, don't forget to cover the plant to stop the birds getting them!
