Acanthus hungaricus 'White Lips'
Acanthus 'White Lips' is a cultivated variety of a popular perennial native to the Balkans. This plant features soft, dark green leaves that form an appealing rosette. In late spring, it produces 60cm tall spiny flower spikes adorned with numerous individual flowers, each showcasing purple hoods and white lips, which are much preferred over the reverse coloration. In its natural habitat, Acanthus hungaricus thrives in dry, rocky clearings, but in the garden, it performs exceptionally well in rich, well-drained soil.
